Who was Frank Griggs

William Frank (RED) Griggs was born September 14, 1894. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in Llano County in 1917 along with 15 other young men. All received training at Camp Travis in San Antonio and were part of the 90th Division, Co. 2, 360th Infantry Regiment in the American Expeditionary Forces.

Griggs was killed in France November 8, 1918, three days before the armistice was declared. American Legion Post 370 in Llano, Texas was chartered by the Department of Texas in June, 1934 – it was named in his honor.

Monthly Meetings: Monthly General Membership meetings are held every third Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. and includes a free BBQ dinner with all the trimmings!
